One of my quickest breakfast is cooking some hot cereal on the weekend and warming in up in the morning throughout the week for a quick pick me up. Today my heart healthy breakfast was Wheatena. Ok, drenched in butter, (in my earlier post find out why I use butter instead of margarine) and turbinado sugar and cooked in water.
Fiber will help fill you up. Fiber will also assist in going to the bathroom for those long reading sessions (you know what I mean). Getting fiber in your diet will help that process go quicker. I only stay on the toilet just as long as it takes me to take a leak.
Just yesterday, I told my daughter she needed to get more fiber in her diet because she was on the toilet for a little over a half an hour. To me...being on the toilet too long takes away from living my life, catching that tv show, or missing that last song in the club with all that alcohol drinking. Backsliding is ok at a minimum. (that one cup of red wine I say)
Other benefits is it has 25% more fiber than a-lot of cereals, low in saturated fat and cholesterol free. It may reduce the risk of heart disease and prevent some cancers. Another wonder food for me.
You can also add some fruit on top like strawberries or banana's for on of your fruit servings for the day.
