I am so exited to come back to blogging. I like sharing my experiences with my friends, family and others. This June, I took the I Can Garden program to the Melanie Thorton Youth Arts Foundation "The Moral Of the Story". Every Friday we take the children on a trip that relates to Gardening. On June 19, 2013 we took our kids to pick Bluberries at DJ's Blueberry Farm in McDonough GA. (Does that sound familiar Brooklynites?-Bed Stuy) Before the trip I had a short class about the heath benefits of the Blueberry. Did you know that the Blueberry (are not only popular, but also repeatedly ranked in the U.S. diet as having one of the highest antioxidant capacities among all fruits, vegetables, spices and seasonings.) according to WHFoods.org, something I did not know until I researched it. So get them Blueberries in your muffin, cereals and even your salads. One of my campers mom, prepared a dinner for us before we put on the play "The Moral of the Story". In our meal, she prepared a salad dressing with her freshly picked Blueberries...a recipe she got off the internet. You can find one on the web, but I will give you the shortcut: I have never never never had a Blueberry dressing and especially so fresh. I even had a second helping and because I loved it so much...hence I'm passing on the recipe! Thank you Ms. Tanya...Christian's mom. That's Christian on the Left and Sachelles on the right.
