15 min fresh dinner....ok, maybe 20 min.

My dinner today is sooooo simple. Broiled salmon. Cleaned with lemon juice, some olive oil on both sides, and a little salmon rub seasoning pop in the broiler...10 to 15 min, easy. Then while preparing fish for the oven, I start boiling water for the vegetable pasta...4 oz serving gives me a full serving of vegetables per meal. But I can't help but have even more vegetables so I prepare my Mother In Law's fresh okra dish with white onions and vine tomato's. Cut okra, slice onion, chunks of tomato, a little salt, lots of pepper and sugar to taste. That's done before pasta is all cooked. And a small can of Progresso's clam sauce for the pasta. Even more fish.

My protein, my grains, my veggie's. This was an ok dish, but at least time preparation was so short, that I enjoyed a movie after dinner.

Bon Appitite!

Having lunch with myself for $10 at Novella...Little Italy

A GOOD SINGLE SERVING
While networking for a new career I had to fuel up and walking in little Italy in NYC, I smelled all kinds of Chinese fried cooking. Knowing that I did not want to disrupt my diet, I saw this sign that I could not refuse. PASTA, PIZZA, PANNINI, WINE OR SODA FOR $10. I even had my choice of three different pasta dishes. Penne with vodka sause was my choice and I even had a choice of red or white wine. And yes, my followers know I choose red wine for it's cancer fighting attributes.

Now, mostly when eating in restaurants, the American portion leaves you with a  chance to bring home a doggie bag, but as you see here, this portion is just right. Not only was I hungry and made all food disappeared, even the leftover sauce I sopted up with my bread.

Then, as my followers also know, I cant have my water without my fresh lemon. The waiter even gave me a lime as a choice. I did have two pieces of bread because it was so warm and the butter was soooo creamy!

This was my Monday lunch treat, while relaxing in a cozy bistro enjoying the fine sunny weather. By the way, this special is offered all day...every day. So stop by any time after you finish shopping in China town, spent all your spending cash and is hungry after walking all around town. Just save $10.89 plus tip for the exceptional service at Novella's.

Bon Apetite!
